Rising more than 3,000 metres above sea level, Jebel Shams, the "Mountain of the Sun", is the highest peak in Oman. From its summit, the first light of morning reveals a vast panorama of the Hajar Mountains stretching to the horizon.

In this panoramic sunrise, the view reaches across to Jebel Al Misht near Ibri in Ad Dhahirah Governorate, its dramatic limestone face catching the early light. It is one of my favourite places in Oman to watch both sunrise and sunset, and a view I recommend to every traveller and camper who makes the journey up the mountain.

As a fine art print, it brings the scale and stillness of Oman's highest mountain to any living room, bedroom or office.
