Sunlight strikes the shimmering surface of the Wadi Dayqha Dam, a splendid body of water located about 111km from Oman’s Capital – Muscat. There are multiple times throughout the year where the dam is opened, and colossal amounts of water are released to ensure space when the rainy season arrives. This is a view of Aftalqoot coast in Dhofar Governorate, south of the Sultanate of Oman. As I arrived at the place, the sun was quickly descending on the horizon and its golden rays were reflected on the ocean. Therefore, I had to choose between using a drone or camera, fortunately; I used the drones. I picked up several angles and this scene was the most dazzling.

Khasab, located in the Musandam Governorate in the north of Oman, is a true paradise for photographers. This picturesque city is blessed with stunning natural landscapes, including majestic mountains and crystal-clear waters.

The coastal path in Khasab offers photographers an opportunity to capture some of the most breathtaking views of the Gulf of Oman and the surrounding region. After obtaining permission from the building’s guards and residents, this particular photo of the Mattrah Souq marketplace was taken at the cusp of sunset, from the roof of one of the Souq’s adjacent structures.

 A scenic 2.5 to 3-hour car ride – around 240 kilometers – escorts ambitious explorers from Muscat to this magnificent mountain haven. Most people flock here during Oman’s cooler months, from October to March, promising clear skies and unblemished views of Al-Misht towering over the city.

 From personal experience, I can confidently say that the temperature here drops significantly at night. Don’t be fooled by the daytime heat – pack a jacket and warm clothing if you plan on stargazing atJebel Shams at sunset.

In the first light of morning, the still water of Wadi Dayqah Dam turns to glass, mirroring the rugged Hajar Mountains that surround it. Set near the village of Al Mazara in Quriyat, it is one of the largest dams in the Arabian Peninsula and one of Oman's most peaceful landscapes.

Hidden in Wilayat Rakhyut, in the far south-west of Oman, Al Hawtah is one of the most distinctive bays on the Dhofar coast. Reaching it takes a 3 km drive by four-wheel drive over rough terrain, and the reward is a wild, secluded cove that few visitors ever see.

I photographed this scene at the end of the khareef monsoon season, when vivid green marine algae cover the rocks along the shore and dark clouds still hang over the wide bay. The contrast between the bright green rocks, the deep sea and the moody sky captures the raw character of Dhofar after the rains.

The cove is also a haven for marine life, with wildlife returning to its waters every year.

Sunlight irradiates the rocky side of Al Jabal Al Akhdar, a mountain range 2000 meter above sea level. About 170 km from Oman’s capital, Muscat, this spectacle offers an awe-inspiring glimpse into what treats mother nature has to offer our eyes.

Due to the rare weather surrounding this area, pomegranates, peaches, walnuts, and roses grow here.
